A Pick of Tulum Beach Clubs

Tulum is renowned for its endless stretches of golden sand and there are few places in the world that compare for beach lovers.

The 10km-plus of beaches are split into northern and southern zones, with more of the public beaches being north and more of the private beach clubs and hotels being to the south.

Technically all of the beaches are public and you can put your towel down anywhere on the sand in front of the hotels/clubs, however in the southern part especially, many will make it hard to access for non-customers.  If you want to use a lounger or the facilities, you will have to pay, and hanging out at a beachclub can be great fun, so hopefully our curated list helps you find your way.

A quick side note to give warning that, as with all the Caribbean in recent years, the east coast of Mexico unfortunately suffers from an influx of sargassum in certain months.   Between April and September you are guaranteed to experience it down on the beach/in the ocean, in March and October it is lighter but still likely, varying on a day to day basis, and even in late February and early November, it's possible to find your beach day affected.

With that being said however, a plus of the hotels/beachclubs over the northern public beaches is that many do a tremendous job of tirelessly clearing the sand in front of their premises each and every day, so that you may enjoy the most of your vacation.  They have no control over the ocean itself however and if you are only interested in a beach vacation and nothing else, then you may want to consider visiting during the peak season of November to February.

Vesica - A cenote with a Beach Club vibe; perfect for days with heavy sargassum

All year long, there is still a great beach experience to be enjoyed here, and with so many hotels and clubs on the water, you can find a place that has the vibe you are looking for.

While you're browsing the app beachclub listing, if you see the Tudu icon in the upper-left corner of the photo, click on it to discover what Tudu family promotions are available at that location.

In most cases, beachclubs charge an entrance fee to use their facilities, but this is generally returned either wholly or in part in a consumption credit.

Clubs pushing for more exclusivity will charge a higher cost, often with lower credit, whereas more inclusive places - locals' favorites - may have no fee and a lower minimum consumption.  In low season the minimums may not even be enforced, so if you are budget conscious, then shop around; there are many great options here.
