Advice for your Cenote trip

These 10 simple pieces of advice will ensure you enjoy your cenote visit to the max!

• Take your own towels ~ they are rarely available onsite

• Bring cash pesos  ~ few cenotes accepts USD and even less take cards

• Use a small waterproof camera to save those memories

• Drink lots of water - use refillable bottles*, not plastic

• Shower before entering the cenote to remove all sunscreen/skincreams ~ the chemicals damage the ecosystem and also make the water murky

• Pay attention to safety signs - swim at your own risk / watch your footing - travel insurance* is recommended

• Use a guide for any diving - the dangers are real

• Secure any valuables out of sight before going in the cenote, better yet, leave them at your accommodation

• Take your trash away with you

• Double check you have all your belongings with you when you leave
